The artist was born and raised in the village of Cordova, in east central Nebraska, population 151:
I attended a one-room schoolhouse through third grade until it was closed. I transitioned to Exeter, where I was involved with arts activities, sports, theater, and music throughout my years there.
Within each artwork, there is peace and depth woven into the canvas. This provides a quiet journey for those that are interested in taking it.
Upon graduating I attended Midland Lutheran College, in Fremont, Neb., where I still reside. While at Midland I studied fine arts and philosophy and fell in love with painting and deep thinking.
Graphic Arts and Marketing occupied my creative senses for the next 20 years before making a career change to become a Maintenance Director for a senior living community. I needed to get away from computers and wanted to learn new skills. When Covid struck in 2020, I needed an outlet for creativity and once again picked up my paintbrush. I have been creating as an artist ever since. In October 2022 I returned to the graphics and marketing world.
My small-town background has given me an appreciation for the outdoors and the quiet away from the city. I feature this tendency prominently in my subject matter. Painting provides me with a deep sense of calm. As a result, it provides the opportunity to think about order in the midst of chaos.
Within each artwork, there is peace and depth woven into the canvas. This will provide a quiet journey for those interested in taking it.
